4 promises

I love the four promises found in Psalm 7:10&11: "God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right. God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day." God is my shield - Picture yourself standing somewhere alone.  Now see yourself holding a a broad piece of armor that acts as a defense against swords, lances, arrows (unkindness, temptation, loneliness).  This broad piece of armor - this shield - is God himself.  He wants to protect you from yourself and others.

...saving those whose hearts are true and right - Are you working to have "clean hands and a pure heart?"  When you do, you have an automatic protection plan against the schemes of the Enemy.

God is an honest judge - Aren't you grateful that you can trust the Lord to ALWAYS do what is honest, right and fair?  King David, when given the option of God's discipline or man's, expressed "I am in great trouble. Let the Lord punish [me], because the Lord is very merciful. Don't let my punishment come from human beings!" (2 Samuel 24:14)

He is angry with the wicked every day -Listen, in God's economy, the definition of a "wicked" person is someone who is being hurtful to another on a regular basis; either physically, emotionally or verbally.  And mark my words, if someone is being "wicked" to you - or if YOU are being "wicked" to someone - trouble with God is the only outcome.  Consider some key passages on this subject from Psalms 34-37: "The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.  BUT, the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. Calamity will surely overtake the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. BUT the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.  For the wicked will be destroyed, BUT those who trust in the Lord will possess the land."

Why not stop and consider which of these four promises means most to you?  Then, spend some time thanking the Lord that you can always trust him to follow through on his Word.
