Get what you need when you need it!

One of the best things about a living, breathing, walking, talking, daily relationship with the Lord is the fact that we have insight - insight into our children's lives (so they THINK we have eyes in the back of our heads), insight into financial decisions, insight into marital conflicts, job changes, relational struggles and school choices. Twice in the 3rd chapter of Acts, Peter had insight into a situation. In verse 6, after being asked by a lame man for money, we're told that Peter looked at him "intently" and said "In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!"  Peter 'saw' the true need of the man and, with the power of the Holy Spirit, gave him what he needed.  Later, when the crowds observed the formerly needy man "walking, leaping and praising God," they were understandably astonished.  "Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd" (verse 12).  The insight Peter received with regards to the situation allowed him a chance to share the message of Jesus Christ.

What insight do you need right now?  Get into God's Word and get what you need!  Look what's promised if you do:

Psalm 19:8bThe commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living.

Psalm 119:98-100Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.  Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.  I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.

Proverbs 1:1-4These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel.  Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise.  Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.  These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young.

Proverbs 2:1ff -...treasure my commands.  Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.  Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.  Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. You will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.  He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.  He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.  He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.  Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe...from those whose words are twisted.
