I don't have to...

John 8:12 says "I (Jesus) am the Light of the world.  If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness because you will have the light that leads to life."  I love that:  you won't have to walk in darkness.  In other words:  I tend to get tangled up in dark places; in sinful attitudes and shameful actions; but, if I stay close to the Light...if I stay close to Jesus...then I don't have to get stuck in those dark places...

• I don't have to be critical...
• I don't have to constantly be aware of my spouse's short-comings...
• I don't have to over-eat...
• I don't have to chronically bad-mouth my "friend(s)"...
• I don't have to drive too fast...
• I don't have to fudge the numbers on my tax return...
• I don't have to nit-pick my spouse to death...

Nope, I don't have to.  And neither do you.

Get close to Jesus; stay in His Light; follow Him; behave like Him.  And the things you think you have to do will become obsolete.
