Only speak when God nudges

After sharing words with my husband of 20 years recently, I happened upon Proverbs 21:23 and had to laugh out loud as I read "Those who are careful about what they say keep themselves out of trouble." Duh!! If only I hadn't reminded him of our recent scuffle, our argument would have been drastically limited.How 'bout you? What could you have NOT said recently?

Maybe your husband didn't need to be reminded that he doesn't follow directions well; Maybe your child didn't need to be compared to all the other honor students in the county; Maybe your friend doesn't need one more idea on how to organize her kitchen, or parent her children or study the Bible (maybe he/she is discouraged enough already!) Trust this timely reminder from God's Word. It will not only keep you out of trouble but it'll provide a true peace in your own heart knowing you're leaving the rest up to God.
