Shame
What are you ashamed of? Your childhood? Your appearance? Your divorce? Your mistakes made as an adult? The mistakes you’ve made as an adult after you became a believer? Well don’t I have some good news for you! Psalm 34:5 says “Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” Did you catch that? “NO shadow of shame needs to darken your face.” Nothing from your past; nothing in your present. As Romans 8:1 reminds us “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving spirit has freed you.” Yes, you’re not only free from sin, you’re free from shame.
But, did you catch the prerequisite of that original verse? It says “Those who look to Him for help…” In other words “you don’t need to be ashamed but, in order for this freedom to be possible, you must look to Jesus for help.”
So, what are you waiting for? Look to Jesus for help. He’ll take away your shame and make you radiant with joy and peace.
