Who are you blaming?

"People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord" (Proverbs 19:3).  What a verse (...chuckling to myself)!  Could these biblical words be any more obvious?

  • People overspend at the mall and then are mad their finances are in turmoil.
  • People speak unkindly to their spouses and then are mad when their spouses are unresponsive.
  • People beg and bargain with their little ones in an attempt to get some peace and then are mad when their little ones fail to comply (because the little ones know instinctively that mom and dad really don't mean business so they continue to disrupt).
  • People put God on the shelf for weeks at a time and then are mad when He doesn't show up the moment they call.

What foolish activity's consequences are you blaming on God?  What not stop right now and be honest with yourself ?  Your honestly will assist in correcting the behavior and the peace you'll gain will motivate you to stay away from more foolishness.
