What truth will you believe?
Feeling defeated today?
- I'll never measure up.
- Why can't I be a good person?
- I'm such a loser!
- I'll never be good at anything.
- If only I was more disciplined.
- I'll never be able to stick to my diet.
- I'm too lazy to spend time with the Lord.
- I'm a bad parent.
- I don't know how to keep from sinning.
- Why can't I look like her?
- I can't memorize scripture like I'm supposed to.
- I don't pray right.
- etc, etc, etc
The war in your mind is not unique to you. We all have an Accuser (Satan) who stands before God (and in our minds) and accuses us day and night (Revelation 12:10). But this Accuser is also called the Father of Lies (John 8:44) and if we allow his accusations to penetrate our souls, we begin to believe his lies rather than believe God's truth.
So when your mind is filled with failure and defeat, instead of lingering there, fill your mind with the truth of how God views you at this very moment. When you do this, the Accuser will be defeated (not you!) and you'll be free then to let your weakness be "made strong in the Savior's love" (Cornerstone, Hillsong Live 2012).
