be determined

Psalm 17:3 says "I am determined not to sin in what I say."  Can you imagine how our lives would be different if each of us made this verse our goal? If I made up my mind to not sin with my words, I wouldn't speak sarcastically to driver in front of me when I didn't approve of his or her driving habits; I wouldn't belittle my husband when speaking with my girlfriends; I wouldn't nag my children when godly structure is actually what they need.

If I made up my mind to not sin with my words, I would reserve my criticism when dining with a group of friends; I would build up my husband instead of pointing out his weaknesses; I would find humility when receiving a "constructive word" from a friend or relative.

Be determined to honor God with everything you say...or don't say.  God will be delighted and you will be blessed.
