Be free!

Are you free?  If you've received Jesus as your Treasure , God says you are!  This is what he told the woman in Mark 5:34.  Believing just a touch of his garment would heal her suffering, she struggled amidst a packed crowd just to get near enough to Jesus to touch him.    When he realized some of his power had gone out from him, he said to her "Daughter, your [obedience] has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Yes, be free. Be free from:

•             …having to have a drink
•             …having to eat even when you don’t really want to
•             …having to stay mad at your father for his wrongful treatment of you
•             …having to worry every moment your children are out of your sight
•             …having to wonder where the next mortgage payment is coming from

Rehearse Romans 6:22 over and over in your mind if you need to: "…[you] are free from the power of sin...Now [you] do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life."  With the Holy Spirit's regenerating power in you combined with your humble, heart-felt obedience, you too can be free and then stay free.

This takes work, but the Lord will help:  "Those who obey God’s commandments live in fellowship with Him and He with them" (1 John 3:24).
