God remembers...
As you potentially consider a new bible study or small group this year, consider Malachi 3:16: "Then, those who feared the Lord spoke with each other and the Lord listened to what they said. In His presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of His Name." When you're gathered with a group of believers praying or studying the bible, the Lord sees and takes note. When you and a friend chew on the meat of God's Word and then apply it to your lives, He's watching. When you surround yourself with others who fear the Lord and consistently respond to His mercy, He observes your attitude and responds.
How does He respond? The verse says "...a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared Him..." Isn't that great? He writes our names down in a scroll of remembrance as if to say "I see what you're doing and I don't forget. I love to honor those who honor me."
Doesn't it make you want to surround yourself with God and His people on a regular basis?
