I say YES
I remember when the worship leader at my church said to our worship team “Don't you wanna go deeper? Don't you wanna really get to know the Lord and everything He can mean in your life?” At that point, a good 18 years ago, I thinking 'YES; yes I DO want to go deeper.' Yes, I want more of His moment by moment presence in my life (I need this!); Yes, I want more of the peace that comes from being able to confess my sin to a loving Father (a Father Who has no ulterior motives but to put me right); Yes, I'm desperate for His insight as I parent my children and strive to love my spouse unconditionally (I cannot do this on my own!). Do you want these same priceless benefits? If your answer is YES, then here’s what you need to understand:
- Going deeper IS possible. Whether you've known the Lord for years and or you just began a relationship with Him, the depth to which you can go is bottomless.
- Going deeper comes with a price. If you truly want to go deeper in your relationship with the Lord, there’s work to be done: Reading and meditating on God’s Word; memorizing Bible verses; a consistent prayer life; obedience to biblical principles.
- Going deeper ALWAYS brings immense blessing. If you commit to this journey, you'll never, ever be sorry. The rewards and blessings you'll gain far out-weigh the work that it takes to get there plus God provides a supernatural peace in the process that you can't even understand.
