Jesus Salvages

An ad recently popped up on my computer screen that read "sell your car to a salvage yard."  As I followed the link (because the word 'salvage' intrigued me) I came across phrases like junkyard dogs, used metal, scrap yard and recycled goods.  In each reference, someone was trying to save something that had value after it had been damaged (supposedly) beyond repair. What in your life needs salvaging?  A broken marriage; a hopeless health issue; a chronic feeling of guilt or shame?  Take it to Jesus; He's the ultimate junkyard specialist.  His forte is wandering through the damaged, used-up areas of your life and finding value in places you'd long since given up on.

  • He sees broken marriages as an opportunity to deal with personal sin and provide restoration.
  • He views sickness as an opportunity to grow your faith and teach you to trust Him.
  • He sees shame and guilt in your life as an opportunity to demonstrate His unconditional love and forgiveness.

Consider where you've given up and let the Lord salvage it.  Remember, what you see as "junk," He sees as a priceless.  Psalm 135:4 - "For the Lord has chosen [you] for himself, [you] are his own special treasure."
