Need some rest?

Are you at a crossroads in your life?

  • ...deciding if you're going to stick it out in your marriage...
  • ...needing to overcome a lack of forgiveness toward a friend or family member...
  • ...choosing between working outside the home verses inside the home...
  • ...understanding that a bad habit must be broken...
  • ...longing for a fresh passion to serve the Lord...

Well, Jeremiah 6:16 provides a great visual:  "This is what the Lord says:  'Stop at the crossroads and look around.  Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.  Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.'"  In other words, stand at the crossroad of the decision and look at what a worldly person would do verses what a godly person would do.  Then, do the godly thing so that you'll get some rest and peace for your life.

Which of your present decisions needs a godly perspective?  Be honest with yourself and seek wise counsel from the true source of wisdom, insight and light - the Bible.  If you do, you'll find rest for your soul.

You [God] will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!  Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock...for those who are righteous [who purposely follow the godly path], the way is not steep and rough.  You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them.  Lord, you will grant us peace [and rest for our souls]; all we have accomplished is really from you.                                                                                                                                              Isaiah 26:3-4, 7, 12
