Safe or wandering?

How's it going with you and God these days?  Are you content with your spiritual walk or could your present state be better described as either bored and indifferent toward Bible reading or separated and wandering from God's watchful care?

Well take heart!  Regardless of how you feel (or don't feel), God's extravagant love for you has not diminished one ounce.  Not only has he proved his undiminished love for you by sending his son to die for your sins (sins you haven't even confessed!), he does not cut you loose when you wander from him. 2 Samuel 14:14b says it perfectly:  "God...devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him."

Just think, right now, if you are a child of his, the God of the universe is keeping track of you, regardless of where you've wandered:

• He knows if your heart is aching and he knows when an old wound has been recently opened.
• He cares if you've lost your car keys and he loves to watch you sleep.
• He's sticking closer to you than a brother ever could and he hears your cries in the middle of the night.
• He's still there:  Loving perfectly, caring enormously and forgiving faithfully.

So what are you waiting for?  Confess your indifference or wanderings, crawl up into his arms and begin again to receive the unconditional love and guidance that's waiting for you.
