Wearing a Muzzle?

Have you confessed sin yet today?  Often we pass over this process in prayer and head straight to our divine "to do" list.  And while God does want us to ask for the desires of our heart (Matthew 7:11), confession/repentance must come first. Why?  Because sin blocks our line of communication with God.  It's like a kink in a garden hose:  The water can't get through until the kink is removed.  John MacArthur said it perfectly:  Attempting to feast on scripture and prayer without confessing sin is like attempting to eat a meal while wearing a muzzle.

So, is your muzzle on or off?  If it's still on - if you haven't confessed sin yet today - fall to your knees in humble repentance and receive the forgiveness God promises to all who confess their sin as sin (no excuses).  Then, you can "come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There [you] will receive his mercy, and find grace to help [you] when [you] need it most" (Hebrews 4:16).

Plus, the food's way better when you don't have to sip it through a straw ('cause you're wearing a muzzle)...
