food
Have you eaten today? The answer is probably "yes." You don’t eat just once a week do you? You eat every day.
Most of us will not miss a meal today yet we'll neglect/avoid/procrastinate reading our bibles! But just like physical food, we must eat something spiritual each day if we expect to stay spiritually healthy.
Knowing this was important, Job in the bible, made a request of God. He said “Cause me to treasure the words of your mouth more than my daily bread.” (Job 23:12) What a concept to consider. What if we loved the bible and what it said more than food? What if the first thing on our minds in the morning was something like “Oh Lord, how can I honor you with my life today” instead of “Oh my, I’m starving…what shall I have for breakfast.”
Clearly, we need to eat. But imagine how our lives would change if spiritual food was more important to us than eggs.
