God with Us

Our pastor pointed out in the last week's sermon that the name God chose for Himself was Emmanuel, meaning "God with us."

What a concept!  The one true, living God, the Creator of the universe, didn't choose to isolate Himself; to be aloof and unattainable.  No, instead He chose to dwell among us, to send His Holy Spirit to live in us and to send His Son Jesus to die for us.

What a concept; what a God.  I'm so thankful I belong to Him.
